I can't begin to stress just how important the Power Supply is when building your own high performance system. The overall quality and stability of your Power Supply is vital to the increasingly power hungry components. PC Power & Cooling is quite eminent on the subject and is why they have been offering PC Enthusiasts with only the highest quality Power Supply Units money can buy. Nowadays, however, looks are just as important as performance for many case modders and enthusiasts. That is where the Turbo Cool 510 Deluxe comes in. Hence its Nick Name "Beautiful Beast", this highly attractive PSU offers a well-balanced combination of performance, reliability and beauty.

The Turbo Cool 510 Deluxe comes in an attractive black matte outer shell. The rear of the unit features an on/off switch and sports a black 80mm fan with a black grill to match its overall theme. There is no fan on the front of the unit but there are vent holes in place. Speaking of holes, the unit has special holes located both on the top (near label) and sides of the unit that are there to easily gain access to the potentiometer controls for those who would like to tweak or make adjustments to the voltages.

To match the full black housing and grill of this PSU, a black mesh is used on all cables. Overall, the sleeves are nice and tight and finished with some black heatshrink tubing. A very nice job is done on the cables. Sleeved cables eliminate unwanted cable clutter and significantly improves the overall appearance of the system. They are all nice and long and should provide enough clearance for all cases, including full towers. Unlike a majority of Power Supplies in the market, the Turbo Cool 510 Deluxe includes two Serial ATA cables as well. Considering the growing number of Serial ATA drives, I was quite pleased to see these.

You can see just how much easier it is to manage your cables with a sleeved Power Supply. You can easily eliminate cable clutter by tucking all the cables out of site, making systems simply look more appealing.
Performance

Voltage readings were recorded using Motherboard Monitor during a 30 minute period under normal operation as well as under load. Unlike a majority of Power Supplies we have looked at and used in the past, the Turbo Cool 510 reported no voltages under the rated specs. This is quite good and is an indication that you are using a high quality Power Supply.

I would like to point out that the potentiometers worked quite well. The +5 voltage, as you can see on the first MBM screenshot above, was a little too high for my liking. I was able to easily tweak it down a bit to a stable 5.07. Providing quick access to the potentiometers is definitely a welcomed and handy feature. The Turbo Cool 510 is the only Power Supply I know that offers such a feature. After the tweaking, the voltages did not fluctuate significantly under load. In fact, there was only a .01 change under heavy usage. Overall, I was quite impressed with its performance.
Conclusion

The Turbo Cool 510 Deluxe is a high quality, feature rich Power Supply that will satisfy any PC Enthusiast. Its all black body and black sleeved cables make its overall appearance quite appealing. It also features two SATA cables, which is quite handy considering SATA drives are becoming more and more popular these days. The work on the cables themselves is top notch and and will not only help eliminate cable clutter, but also make your overall system more appealing. Its performance was just as impressive as its beauty, maintaining the same voltage readings under various conditions without any significant changes.

Every product has its pros and cons, the only con I could come up with is the price. However, keep in mind the the unit is backed by a full 5 year warranty! Sure, you'll pay a little more than you would expect to for a PSU, but it is well worth it, considering what you get in return...superior quality, performance and peace of mind. It is no doubt why PC Power and Cooling PSU's are the preferred choice for Maximum PC's Dream Machines over the years. Highly recommend.
More information on the Turbo Cool 510 Deluxe can be found at the PC Power & Cooling Website. They currently have an estimated price tag of $209.
