Reviews about the Silencer 750 Quad (Red)
|"The PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 Quad CrossFire Edition is one of the best high-end computer power supplies we have had grace our test bench in terms of power performance and overall build.
The Silencer 750 Quad CrossFire Edition is perfectly at home in a high-end CrossFire gaming rig and the Ferrari red color certainly has a coolness factor that leaves other power supplies in the dust."
|"...the highest efficiency we have seen so far in seven years of working in this field.
PCP&C didn't forget anything when it comes to cables and connectors. There are enough connectors on cables of varying lengths to provide the best connectivity possible.
From the performance side the results were also excellent.
...one more indication of PCP&C commitment to quality."
|"We were really impressed by this power supply. Efficiency was one of the highlights of this product during our tests. If you pull up to 80% of its labeled capacity you will have at least 85% efficiency, peaking almost 90% when you pull 40% of its capacity. Even when we overloaded it efficiency was still above 80%. It is a very quiet power supply if you run it below its maximum capacity.Featuring a 5-year warranty, four video card power cables and a sufficient number of peripheral power connectors, this product is perfect for high-end users looking for a power supply on the 750 W-850 W range. |"PC Power & Cooling has been named the power source for the 9th consecutive year for Maximum PC's annual DREAM MACHINE build. The Silencer 750 Quad has been used two year's running! ...this SLI/CrossFire-ready PSU delivers more than enough juice. Even better, the unit uses a single-rail design to power all components," states the official Dream Machine article, published in the September 2007 issue of Maximum PC. "While other PSU-makers sport multiple rails, which don't make efficient use of resources, the Silencer 750 Quad puts the power where you need it."|
|"You can’t pass by this power supply uninterested. It is painted a bright red color, which is most unusual for PC power supplies. The Silencer 750 from PC Power & Cooling is an excellent PSU for people who really need a high-wattage power source. Besides superb electrical characteristics, a somewhat unusual appearance and a full selection of cables, it features a very quiet operation at low and medium loads, which is not a common attribute of high-wattage PSUs.PC Power & Cooling deserves to be on the podium with its quiet, powerful, stable and pretty-looking Silencer 750. if you are looking for a really high-wattage PSU, you should definitely consider this one."
|"By using only a single 80mm fan for cooling, the Silencer 750 Quad PUS was found to be very quiet. If it wasn’t for the 2900 XT’s, that can sound like a hair dryer at times, I would not have known the system was on. The cabling was long enough to reach all the places I need it to go in the Ultra M998 case and still be some what hidden. The Silencer 750 Quad is a very capable power supply for mid-rage systems.
|"The PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 Quad CrossFire Edition is an excellent power supply that delivers on all the advertised claims. It produces very stable, clean DC outputs efficiently at an affordable price.
PC Power & Cooling's Silencer power supplies feature performance and reliability but with an emphasis on quiet operation at an affordable price."
|"We're mounting the PSU below the motherboard, and since it only takes air in from the rear, we don't have to worry about it interfering with the lowest graphics card's airflow. In addition, the S75CF is CrossFire-ready with four PCIe power adapters, which are just enough to feed our quad-CrossFire Radeon HD 4850s. This is a great PSU for this application at $120."

|"PC Power & Cooling has a reputation in the industry to make the best PSUs out there - without any sacrifices. Their Silencer 750W CrossFire we had on the test bench confirms that this is true. You can see that a lot time has been used to work on small details. The PCP&C Silencer 750W is the quietest PSU we tested so far, when considering both idle and loaded noise levels. The PSU delivers super high efficiency with 82%, taking the number one spot in our testing."
|"The unit is made in a glossy-red metallic housing, additional evidence of Crossfire system support. An important component of the PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750W is the well-thought noise-reduction system: to make the unit quieter, the manufacturer has turned away from a large fan on the lower wall, replacing it with an 80-mm fan on the back wall. Efficiency, stability and plenty of connectors make this a quality PSU."

|"This brilliant red S75CF has enough beef for most dual-card gaming systems, yet is priced attractively at $199.99. PC Power&Cooling really needs no introduction here, so suffice to say that the company makes some of the most reliable desktop PC power supplies on the planet."
|"The power supply itself sports some impressive features, such as an 825 Watts peak, but it is more rated at a reasonable 750 Watts @ 40° C. This yields 83% efficiency with .99 power factor correction (PFC). The 12-Volt DC output is an impressive 60 Amps on a single rail. As we said earlier, the unit is certified for both ATI Crossfire and NVIDIA SLI use. The internal build quality is excellent. In real world testing of the Silencer 750 Quad that lasted over a month, we noticed very little movement in the voltage output. The Silencer 750 Quad in our HD 2900 XT equipped system was more than up to the task of powering the video card, 3 hard drives, 2 optical drives, as well everything else in our system. Under heavy load, the fan did spin up a bit during marathon gaming sessions, but the noise from the HD 2900 XT video card was louder than that of the Silencer 750 Quad. The Silencer 750 Quad did what it was advertised to do, which is to provide clean and stable power to our system with no problems whatsoever. Given that this is a reality, we can recommend the Silencer 750 Quad as an excellent product that is able to perform well in a variety of situations.
|"PC Power & Cooling products are like a racing cars - it's raw and on the edge. If you don't care about frills and want meat and bones like the man you are, then put the Silencer 750W on your short-list, right near the top. From what we've seen so far in this power range - the PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750W is definitely one of the better ones."
|"First and foremost, the S75CF offers great voltage stability, with no rail fluctuating more than 0.11v and all rails remaining within their 'ideal' voltages. In addition to this the efficiency of the S75CF is one of the best we've seen here at Overclock3D, managing 83.43% at 443w load and a highly impressive 84.08% at 766w load. Topping off the package is some very sexy "Ferrari Red" paintwork designed for the ATI enthusiasts..."

|"The PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 Crossfire Edition unit looks impressive and is the ideal power supply for anyone looking at using one or even two of the new Radeon HD 2900XT graphics cards.
we are very confident that the Silencer 750 Crossfire Edition will be able to handle any gaming hardware configuration that is thrown its way!"
|"All lines on the Silencer are extremely stable, looking at the results we can't do anything else but salute PC Power & Cooling for the Silencer - simply amazing!"
|"In our test the Silencer 750 provides true stability. Even at high temperature of 50 degrees, it doesn't lose any performance. With outstanding stability and an efficiency of up to 86% the Silencer is in it's own class."|
|"When running the PC Power & Cooling 750W Silencer PSU in this test system it operated very quietly. The test rig could barely even make the power supply sway. We believe PC Power & Cooling has put together a serious power supply. Whether you are overclocking or throwing in the latest multi-GPU and multi-core parts the PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750W should be able to handle it."
|"Using the Silencer turned out to be a breeze. PC Power & Cooling made great efforts to keep the Silencer true to its name: silent. PC Power & Cooling made great efforts to keep the Silencer true to its name: silent. The Silencer Quad performed the best out of any PSU I have ever owned. Not only are the voltages all quite accurate, but they are extremely consistent as well even when stressed on an overclocked, Crossfire enabled system. The single rail design took the cake and really impressed us today."

|"We start with one of the most respected brands on the market. We tested the Silencer 750 QUAD from PC Power & Cooling not too long ago and were pleased with the results. Its performance and high quality make for a very good purchase that no user would regret. The 5-years warranty is simply the cherry on top of a sweet overall package. The different versions of this unit are all internally the same, and only the color (red, black, or copper) changes. If you want something that will last through several system upgrades, the Silencer 750 is more than enough for today's applications and systems."
